CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

Dolph was surely not one of the nicest people Riley had ever and would ever meet, even on their way to the elevator, he kept on taunting her.

“It’s a damn elevator, everyone knows how to use an elevator. And you’re a fucking human.” He said.

She remained silent, wondering how she would tell him that she never had the luxury he had her entire life. He was smiling as he mocked her so it gave her the insight that he didn’t mean all what he was saying, she didn’t take any of what he said to heart. They got into the elevator and he left her after setting her down for the ground floor. “It’s advisable if you do not speak to anyone else on the way, just for your safety.” He said and she smiled and nodded.

Why was she smiling even after I had mocked her? He wondered and squinted at her as the doors closed. “Well, she’s strange as hell.” He concluded and walked back into the office.
