The wide doors of the meeting hall were thrown open and everybody was already seated in their respective chairs.

As expected, my father had called for an emergency meeting.

And there was a good reason for it. For everyone had seen the black carriage enter through the huge palace gates.

It had been a while since a vampire carriage had entered our palace. Usually, it would just be the werewolf trucks and vans.

The vampires loved their old fashioned carriages for some reason. I had seen it through my window and knew that father would want me in the meeting hall.

There were only a handful of people in this meeting as opposed to the high-ranking members that my father always invited for other meetings.
