06-causing trouble

Alessia

***

As Lazza said, I was suddenly a pet. Being a maid meant I was turned to being someone's pet.

They instructed me on what I was supposed to do. I also met Clara, one of the maids who I took over from. She explained about the job. I was to serve meals, be available whenever the boss needed me, and entertain him. Preferably, stripping or lap dancing.

After I was given all I needed, I let Clara do the job for the night. Everything felt like rubbish to me.

Once everyone had left to serve their masters, I remained in the main kitchen.

I sat at one table in the massive kitchen. I understood their need to have such an enormous modern kitchen; they made a variety of food. The maids had to push trolleys to the respective wings to serve the Lazza family members.

Lazza carried the family name as the boss. No one was allowed to call him by his real name. So his real name remained mysterious.

Settling with a plate of saffron pasta and veggie salad, I ate. Who knew what would happen next? So, I needed to wolf down my food before the devil decided to ruin my evening.

Marco sabotaged my thoughts. I hoped he was busy finding me.

The food couldn’t flow well because of the painful lump that settled in my throat. Thinking about everything brought tears to me. I shook them off. There was no time to cry. I needed to be strong and stick to the plan.

I stuffed my mouth with more food. Never thought I would miss my mum’s cooking. I missed the way we would share meals. Never in my life had I ever thought I would miss hearing my parent's noises as they fought. I missed cleaning their messes.

To think of everything, Dad was the source of all this as well. He knew Marco, and finding them in Dad’s office meant they had some businesses together.

Some movements caught me snapping out of my thoughts. I whipped my head to where it emerged, only to meet the face I did not desire to see. Romeo.

Frustration shot to a high level. It had only been a day but Mister's grinning face had been making it feel like ages. To be honest, I was tired of seeing him.

I lost my appetite, so I left. It wasn’t time to deal with him.

I brushed beside him and went to the door but he stopped me. Of course, he had to, because he came to ruin my night with his presence. He suffocated me with his mere existence.

“You refused to do what I instructed.” Anger raced in his voice

“What was that?” I asked. No one enlightened me about Romeo instructing anything.

He turned to me. “I want you to be mine.” He declared, and my brows flashed upward. “Serve me and I will make you mine.”

For a second, I thought he was joking, but the bastard had a serious expression on him.

“When you show the effort that you will be obedient, I will let another woman serve you. You will be the lady—”

“Okay. Okay.” I breathed. We needed to clear things up because he did not seem to know me. “There must be something you are missing. I don’t belong here. Soon, I will leave. I am sure my parents are doing all they can to solve this issue.”

He stared for a while before a chuckle emerged. I found nothing entertaining in my statement. “You are clueless.” He began striding toward me. “You were sold to us. You are here to pay for someone's mistakes.”

“You know nothing!”

“Really?” He cocked a brow. “You are a mere maid. But if you behave and do what I tell you, I will change that. You will also have the privilege of eating at the same table as me. But first, show your loyalty.”

“No, thank you. I would puke sharing a table with people like you. And trust me, the boss said my parents can get me out of here. Unless no one informed you.”

He laughed. God, I hated him so much. “You are just stupid. I understand. Now,” he suddenly wore a serious look. “Let’s begin by seeing you.” His eyes raked my body, making me step behind.

“What do you mean?”

“Your body. Strip.” He declared, causing my blood to rush insanely. He noticed my shock and smiled. “No, don’t worry, no one will walk here.”

“No. I,” I swallowed. “I am not doing that.”

Anger dashed in his eyes. God had to help me because I wasn’t ready to fight with Romeo again. He wore a face that had me shivering.

“What was that?” he asked.

“I said, I won’t strip. Why would I?”

“I said I will make you mine and I have the right to look at your body to make sure there is nothing fake about your body parts. So, start stripping or I will tear those garments off your fucking body.”

I moved away again, my back hitting the kitchen island. Things had turned darker. Every second had to get me into a mess. This one looked serious, and I was trembling, knowing I needed to defend myself and not let him do it.

“You keep me for another fucking second—”

“I won’t do that.” I declared, sighting the wrath building inside him. He was back again, the monster who almost broke my leg, the animal that afflicted my breast. He was back. This time, as Doctor Lucia said, he looked determined to do worse.

His steps towards me echoed in my ears, causing my heart to pound loudly. My eyes scanned my surroundings. I could use a spatula to keep him away so I could run, and then my eyes fell on a set of kitchen knives.

“I fucking saved your life back there. Do you think that man couldn’t have killed you?” He towered over me. “You must respect my words. Strip for me, and even if I say you open your legs for me, you will do.”

That got on my nerves. It disgusted me to the point that I could only see blood. My hands itched to put him in his place. If he loved seeing blood, I could help him see actual blood flowing from him.

“This is the last time—”

“I am not stripping and you won’t make me what you think you want!” That touched a sore part in him. I had seen which knife to grab. The moment Romeo stepped in like a hungry wolf, I immediately grabbed a knife. With my eyes shut, I pushed it to him, a scream leaving my lips with sobs. “Leave me alone!”

He had grabbed my shoulders, but his hands slackened and slipped off. I gasped for air, releasing the knife that felt stuck, then slipped away. My breath stuck in my throat.

“F-fucking slut!” He gritted the words, and I had to open my eyes because he could have been holding a knife to me.

My trembling legs carried me away again when I met some blood surging from his stomach.

The knife.

I stabbed him.

My brain switched off and the next I was running. I did not know where I was running off to. My eyes blurred from the tears as I bumped into people on my way.

I stabbed him.

That rang in me as I escaped. Some guards tried to stop me, but I pushed them off. I saw a door ahead of me; I ran to it, pushed it open, and got inside.

When I locked the door, I leaned against it and resumed sobbing as I caught my breath. He made me do it; he pushed me to stab him.

Some footsteps echoed from outside, and I held my breath. Looking around to see where I was to run, my eyes fell on the last person I expected to see. Lazza.

He stood by a staircase across from where I was. His hands slipped inside his sweatpants pockets. The cold eyes held on me.

Someone gripped the door, and I jumped away.

The door opened, and Matteo walked in. He gave me a look of disapproval before facing Lazza. “Boss, we have a situation.” He reported, and I shook my head.

I drifted my gaze to Lazza, whose eyes remained fixed on me. “Start talking!” he said coldly, making calculated steps towards us.

I stepped away while shaking my head. “He … tried to touch me—”

“APPREHEND HER!” He yelled then left the room before I could even explain myself.
