Chapter 40: Happy Family

"Where were you?"

My mom's question sent me back to the tsunami of life I faced over the past year in Belgium. From my kidnapping, to the auction, to being caged in Belgium. A tsunami that turned my life upside down.

"Tell us, Nisha! Where were you?" My dad demanded.

"Somewhere I shouldn't have been," I responded.

They looked at me confusingly. I was a bit worried about them, but today's motto wasn't talking about me, so I held their hands.

"Leave that. What you guys were doing?" I questioned.

"What do you mean?" My mom asked.

"I have known about your whearabouts mom, dad. You two don't even talk to each other. Dad, you stay out for days and mom, you just work and do what? Why do you guys behaved like that?" I questioned them.

My parents's face fell as they looked towards the floor. As if they were guilty of their deeds and didn't want to face the bitter question. But, they had to answer me today.
