“Spiked by who? Who would want me dead?” She drawled and I snorted while reminding myself that we aren’t the same after all.

“Never mind, I forgot everyone aren’t around Lorenzo like I am.” I mused and it was like her eyes sharpened at that. She took a closer look at me before leaning forward slowly that I felt a little uncomfortable beneath her gaze.

“You’re the girl who was abducted on her wedding night by Lorenzo, right?” She asked, but it sounded like she already knew the answer to that.

“Interesting.” She hummed and I rolled my eyes.

“What even do you mean by that?”

“You’re clearly fairing way better than everyone assumed you’d be when your new husband got killed before you got abducted.” She continued and I averted my gaze after a few seconds, not knowing what to say to that.

“Hey, don’t take what I said to heart, I didn’t mean it in a bad way, it just came out that way cause I’m starting to get drunk.” She continued on a small chuckle and I glanced at the empty glass on the
