Chapter 96

Mia’s pov

A smile was on my face as soon as I opened my eyes, and I tightened my hold around Lorenzo’s warm form. I had expected him to have pulled away before I woke up, and got a pleasant surprise to realize that he was still here, fast asleep. His face was still buried in my chest and I felt my heart flutter a little as I took in how relaxed his face looked.

I began to wonder about what his nightmare could have been about and if this was a regular thing for him. It made my heart ache because no one deserves to leave with scents horrifying enough to trigger nightmares.

The sun was already shining through the tiny cracks in the curtains which indicated that the day had already broken. I knew the best thing to do is to shake him awake, since I’ve known him, he was always awake early, and if I leave him to sleep in, he might wake up pissed.
