Russo frantically searched his cluttered office for his phone. Papers and files were strewn about as he overturned every surface in his quest. His heart raced as he finally spotted his smartphone peeking out from beneath a stack of folders.

With trembling hands, he retrieved it and quickly dialed Hans' number. The phone rang, each second feeling like an eternity until Hans finally picked up.

"Hans, it's Russo," he breathed heavily into the phone. "Did you receive the message I sent you?"

There was a brief pause, filled with the tension that only high-stakes situations could create. "Yes, Russo," came Hans' calm and composed voice on the other end. "I got your message. What's going on? Has this been confirmed?"

Russo swallowed hard, his throat dry. "We've been compromised, Hans. It's worse than we thought. The enemy… they've been within our ranks all along."
