"She's asleep," Connor said.

Russo looked up from what he was reading and nodded his head. He was quite happy that Martha was doing alright even though he had gotten the shock of his life when he saw that state she was in. Never in his life could he ever have believed that she would be in that situation because as far as he was concerned, Connor's house was the safest place he knew. There were many things he was confused about, many things he didn't like but he couldn't complain because at the end of it all, all of them were safe which was the most important thing.

"Thank goodness." he sighed, pulling off his glasses.

He placed it on the table, rubbing his eyes in tiredness. He had been through a lot these past few days and what he really wanted was rest and long hours of sleep. He wouldn't stop though because everything he was doing and had done was because he loved them. They were like a family to him, one in which he would never leave even though he might pass through so
