The day of the mango harvesting finally came. Dana woke up at 3:30 am, and she's all set and ready at four o'clock in the morning. She's getting used to waking up early in the morning, and she's starting to like it.She went to the kitchen to make herself a cup of hot coffee. She's drinking her coffee while enjoying the coldness and peacefulness of this morning...At exactly 4:30 in the morning, Marcus is finally at their doorsteps, waiting for her because they are going together to the mango farm. Before she and Marcus can finally go to the farm, her Aunt Maggie gave them last-minute reminders."Please watch over my niece, Marcus." Aunt Margie reminded Marcus."I promise I will take care of her, Aunt Maggie." Marcus made a promise.Dana almost rolled her eyes heavenward. Her Aunt is really an old-fashioned type of person, but she can't really blame her. She knows that she's just trying to protect her. After a few more reminders, Marcus and Dana finally started walking towards the man
It's been three weeks since the accident at mango farm happened. Dana has been visiting Marcus at his Aunt's house, just to take care of him, and to assist him with his daily routine while his right hand is still wearing a cast.On that particular rainy day, Dana visited Marcus again, since his Aunt is not at home because she needs to go to the market to buy some stocks of food..."Dana, can I ask you something?" Marcus suddenly asks her."Of course. What is it?" Dana smilingly inquired, while she's peeling some fruits for Marcus."Can I regularly drop by your house?" Marcus spoke again.Dana curiously frowned after she heard him. "Why do you need to let me know about it? You can drop by the house at anytime!" she said."Well, this time, I have different reason on why I want to visit you in your house." Marcus mysteriously stated."You're talking in riddles, Marcus. Can't you just go straight to the point?" Dana's getting more and more curious.Marcus lets out a deep, calming breath
One year have passed. Dana heaved a sigh of relief when the Japanese Immigration Officer gave an approval stamp on her passport. She's been real worried while she was standing on line because she's been hearing lots of horror stories on the internet about the strict Immigration process and interview inside the Japanese airports. There were some cases wherein tourists will be asked to fly back to their own countries if something is missing in their documents or any problems with their travel papers. It's good to know there were no issues with her own documents. She can relax now and enjoy her whole trip in Tokyo, Japan...When she finished all the things she needed to do,she's now walking with luggage cart, and she's making her way way towards the Arrival Area. She looked around as she tries to find Marcus and his twin sister Michaela from the crowd of people waiting at the arrival area. She lets out a big smile when she saw the two of them excitedly waving at her. She quickly walked
Dana noticed the white towel rolled up and placed on a wooden square. Marcus seemed to notice it too so he spoke again. "It's called "Oshibori," Dana. You can use it to clean your hands before eating." he said, as he unfolded the wet white towel and wiped it on his hand. Dana imitated what Marcus did. It was comfortably warm, and she feels better. She couldn't help but be impressed by the things he saw in Japan, which is why he was sure he would enjoy his stay here. Their conversation was interrupted when a waitress came with a tray full of food. When the food was placed on the table and when the waitress left, Michaela spoke this time. "They call it "yakitori," Dana. It's grilled chicken on a stick and it's one of the famous Japanese foods.” she relayed. Dana took a chicken stick and bit into it. "Hmm! He is delicious!”“—and this is the deep fried chicken they call “Karaage.” This is the salad so that we don't get sick of the taste of chicken oil. And finally, it's the "edamam
Michaela suddenly looked at Marcus."Oh, I'm okay. Congratulations to the both of you, and I am looking forward to your wedding. And hey, don't forget to call Mom and Dad and tell them the good news!" she suggested."Oh, right. I almost forgot about them. Thanks, Michaela!" Marcus quickly opens his phone to do a video call to their parents to tell them the exciting news... When Michaela glances back to look at the mysterious man with the camera, he was already nowhere to be found..."Where are you, Mr. Cameraman?" she asked to herself, while feeling a pang of disappointment... ================================Michaela slowly opened her eyes. She saw the bright sun shining in her room. She whispered a prayer of thanks for this wonderful winter morning in Japan. Afterwards, she finally got out from her bed. She noticed that it wasn't too cold today because the sun is shining brightly. After the magical and romantic proposal of his twin brother to his girlfriend Dana last night, they w
Michaela gasped in obvious admiration when she finally enters the National garden park. There are so many different varieties of plants and flowers, and she doesn't know where to look first! But she decided to take a series of photos as much as she can on her smartphone so that she can upload them all on her social media accounts. She was busy taking photos, but she suddenly stops in a halt when she saw someone standing just a few meters away from him. Michaela's heart started beating like crazy because she feels quite familiar with the figure which is standing far away from him. He's actually holding the very same camera model, and she knows that it was the very same man that she saw at Tokyo Tower...Michaela suddenly feels like the time has stopped, as she watches the man walking towards her. Everything seems to be like in slow motion, but it doesn't really matter."We met again." the man started talking, as he smiles down at her."Yes. We saw each other at Tokyo Tower last night."
Few moments have passed.Dane and Michaela are having a good time talking to each other while having a cup of delicious coffee and amazing pastries. The two of them are trying to get to know each other..."Well, you already know my name... I'm the second child in our family, and my parents told me that I'm such a wild child, which is actually true. I like going on endless adventures, I want to take the risks in everything because I believe in that you only live once, so you should try to get out from your comfort zone and enjoy what life has to offer." Michaela started talking about herself."Hmm, I think you're playing safe here. Is there something else that I need to know? Like your dark side maybe?" Dane smilingly asked, in a teasing manner.Michaela's smile suddenly vanished from her lips after she heard Dane's question. And yes, she does have a dark secret that mainly involves her grandfather and father. She's now contemplating on whether she should tell him her family secret. Year 1980. The basketball championship finals is finally over. The basketball match between St. Charles High and St. Matthew High has finally concluded. All of the audience are now walking their way out from the indoor basketball court. After a few minutes, the venue is almost empty, except for the losing team and Dana and her best friend, Benjie...They are both feeling sad because their school, St. Charles High School, was unable to get the championship title and trophy. Their competitor, Saint Matthew High, won in the end, with only a difference of six points.Dana is overwhelmed with so much feelings right now. She feels nervous at the same time because this is the exact day and time that she's been waiting for. This is the day that she will confess her feelings toward someone whom she secretly loves for a very long time."Good luck on your plan, Dana. This is the chance that you've been waiting for, so don't you dare chicken out, okay?"Dana's train of thoughts stop in a halt wh
