Jasmine/Hope
“Who is it?” Louis says, coming out of the kitchen and walking into the living room. I was just standing there, holding the door open.
“Do I know you?” Louis asked when he saw Nikolai. “Do you know him?” He asked again, looking at me. He looks foolish looking back and forth between us holding a spatula in his hand.
“Hope?” Nikolai says, looking at me expectantly. His eyes looks tired.
“Hope?” Louis asked, sounding like a god damn parrot.
“Yes, Louis. I know him. This is my brother, Nikolai.” I tell him. Thank goodness he didn’t see James earlier or I would have to make up a new story of having two brothers instead of one.
“Well then, why don’t you let him in?” He says. “Come on in, man.” He says, inviting Nikolai into his house.

Jasmine / Hope“Are you surprised?” I ask Nikolai once we got into the car.“I’m not sure.” Nikolai says. “Same as Xavier, I was also wondering why you never left even after you regained your memories. I wanted to believe what you said. That the reason you stayed with me was because you treated me as your family. It did not really make sense to me that you would choose me over your own real family, but I did not say anything because whatever the reason was, I prefer having you by my side.”“Is that so?” I say, looking outside the window. As if they were always there, waiting for you when you were away. The endless branching corridors and circular nursing stations look like the endless labyrinth.
