I'm pretty sure Marco didn't ask a rhetorical question but neither of us uttered a word. I was pleased he was here at least, but I still needed to stay quiet. Speaking up would only make this situation worse.

"Why were you yelling, Tony? I could hear your voice all the way down the hall," Marco commented.

"It's none of your business. I don't know you," Tony remarked rudely.

"Yeah?" Marco pursed his lips, giving Tony a scrutinized look. "I'll find out eventually."

"Oh, sure, the golden boy," Tony mocked, "I mean, what's Enzo thinking?! He brings you in! A damn stranger! And now, he's choosing yet another stranger to marry Rosa! He's a damn fool," he insulted. "And obviously on the decline. I've seen it coming for years now."

"I get that you want to be given more responsibility. I mean, that's why we all work our asses off," Marco pacified, "but what does Rosa's marriage have to do with anything?"

"If Enzo wants a son-in-law to lead the family, why not me?" He splayed his arms in a
