Chapter Twenty

Amelia walked to Xavier’s office, she wanted to ask for a favour. Again. She hated that she depended on Xavier, she hated that even after she was humiliated by him, she had to run back like a puppy for each and every of her need, this time it wasn’t a financial need.

This was a different type of favour.

She could not say how shocked she was when she had fully offered herself to Xavier and he turned her down, the shocked had faded and shame replaced it. She had thought she knew what Xavier wanted and his rejection had taken all hope Amelia ever had of a ‘happily ever after’. There was something else. Why she believed what Xavier had done was wrong, she wasn’t sure she was right. Maybe he had abstained so as to not have sex with her on such desperate conditions, he didn’t take advantage of the situation.
