Chapter 62: I'm Not Depressed

Depression wasn’t something new to Callie. It had visited her enough times in her life that she recognized the signs and welcomed it like an old friend.

Day in and day out, doctors reassured her that she would be able to sing again. The damage was to her jaw and not her vocal cords, so with medicine and physical therapy she would be able to sing again with no problems.

None of them, however, understood that her ticket out of this place vanished into thin air. She was counting the days until she could finally leave the city, and her uncle’s clutches, and finally live the life that she’d always wanted.

Nevertheless, she tried her best to put a smile on her face. Callie did not want for anything, the VIP ward of the hospital looked more like a hotel room than a hospital room. If there was something she wanted, food, a specific book, or even a show she wanted to watch, Vin made it happen. And Vin had made sure to keep her company.
