She averted his gaze and pretended not to hear him at all. She turned around. "Oh, my. I think I should take a bath first, right?" she blabbered around, as if she was busy doing something. "Oh, I think I should just clean my face."

She picked something from the bed; a towel, and then went to walk towards the toilet. But before she could even take a few steps from him, he held her arm to stop her.

"Margarette," he said through his low voice. She stopped. She closed her eyes tight and mentally cursed herself.

She spun over her heels and faced him with a nonchalant look.

"Look, I'm sorry, okay?" she started. "That just slipped through my mouth mindlessly and I didn't even realise I said it until you pointed it out yourself. Don't think about it. It was nothing. I didn't mean—"

He put his finger on her lips, stopping her. "Hush." He chuckled. "I just asked one question, you don't need to write a whole essay about it."
