40 A decision

Christos.

The whistle behind me did not help and I turned to my second in command with a fierce scowl.

“What the hell happened, Alpha?” Frank questioned with another impressive whistle, even as he gave me a weary look of concern.

“Mind your language.” I warned authoritatively, but I was fully aware my friend was not scared of me, although he would always respect the Alpha’s voice and authority.

“I am innocent. Don’t take it out on me.” He defended with two hands in the air and an equally smirking expression on his face.

“Hmm.” I snorted coldly, before walking in the opposite direction. The annoying man refused to take the hint as he followed closely behind.

Sparing a few moments to wonder if it’s worth it to take him through another run just to avoid his questioning gaze, I stopped abruptly when I felt a kick on my chest.

“Try it and I promise to desert you forever, Alpha or no Alpha.” My wolf objected strongly and I knew the kick on my chest was a warning before a storm.
