The sun started to color the evening sky with hues of pink, peach, and orange, and I felt an odd combination of gleeful anticipation and wistful sadness. It was the most meaningful day. Our little baby girl Ella was celebrating her 1-year milestone. As my gaze fell upon our little miracle, my heart overflowed with happiness, and I was eager for the party.

“This is the perfect day Dante and I have planned for Ella,” I said as I looked around the balloons and streamers covered every inch of the living room while a huge “Happy 1-year-old birthday to Ella!” birthday banner hung on the wall behind the chairs where we would gather to sing to her.

Currently, Dante was busy looking after our daughter who won’t stop laughing and running after the balloons on her tiny little feet. Unlike, other kids Ella started walking when she was only ten months old, and man, if it hasn’t been tiring since because she always manages to do something odd.
