Chapter Forty-Four

“ My dearest Fia,

There are days I awake with your laughter echoing from my dreams, days the warmth of the sun on my skin reminds me of your touch and days I long to tell you of my adventures; the one thing all those days have in common is the unique torture of being away from you.

It becomes harder every day, harder to remember your smile, harder to recall the sweet sound of your voice. I miss you. 

I don’t think I ever told you this, but as I trek further into the forest, hiding from rogues in trees and building fires for the warmth it’s all I think about. You were- you are my best friend, and you’ll always be.
