Chapter 36 : Unmasking Shadows

Chris awoke with a start, his eyes darting around the room before settling on Thalia by his side. Relief washed over her face as she saw him conscious. "Chris," she whispered, "where have you been for two years? I was so worried."

Chris groaned, rubbing his temples as if trying to piece together fragmented memories. "I... I went after the remnants of the Manian pack, trying to eliminate them. But I was captured. They injected me with something that made me lose my memories. A man helped me and told me the only way to recover my memory was to get close to someone familiar. The only person I could remember was you, Thalia."

Thalia's heart softened. "Don't worry, Chris. I'll take care of you. You'll get your memories back, I promise."

He gave a weak nod. "Could you get me some water?" he asked, his voice strained.

Thalia stood up. "Of course, I'll be right back."
