Chapter 2: Worried About You

Tristan’s POV

I had just reached the training grounds where the pre shifters were stretching.  I looked around but I didn’t see Addy. I know she does private lessons with Gamma Blake, and I see him walking out of the weight room.

“Gamma Blake, where is Addy?”

“I sent her home.  She spent the morning beating up my girlfriend.”  I chuckled when he said that.  We always joked growing up that the punching bag was his girlfriend because he would spend so much time training with it.  The joke stuck and he just went with it.

“Tristan, you need to keep an eye on her.  It hasn’t hit her yet.  She is trying to ignore it and not let it sink in. It is going to hit her like a fallen tree when she finally lets the pain settle.”  He says has he puts his hand on my shoulder.  “She’s worried about you, you know.”

“Why is she worried about me?  That’s not her job.”  I look over at him shocked.

“You know how she is; she always worries about everyone else before she thinks about herself.”  I look down, I know he is right, and I shouldn’t be surprised.

“She’s strong Tristan, stronger than anyone I know, but it will hit her, and I think it will hit her soon.  Keep an eye out on our little moon.”

My heart hurts hearing him say it.  I know he is right.  She is so incredibly strong. I have seen her strength not just physically but mentally and emotionally as well.

“Thanks Gamma Blake.”  He squeezed my shoulder before walking away and starting to lead morning training.

I walk around the training field, helping the pre shifters with technique.  As I come across Gabby and Lizzy, Addy’s two best friends they stop sparing and turn to me.

“Tristan, is Addy, okay? It’s not like her to miss training,” Gabby asked.

“Yeah, she is okay.  She is just…” I wasn’t even sure how to continue.

“Refusing to deal with the pain?” Lizzy finished my sentence for me.

“Yeah.” I said softly.  I wasn’t sure how to help her.  Dad helped both of us to get through mom’s death.  I know it was so hard to lose his mate, but he said having us, gave him a reason to keep living.

“If you two will try and talk to her or maybe get her to go out.  She has barely left the house outside this last week.” I suggested.

“Yeah, we will try, but you know how she is,” Gabby replied.   I shook my head because I did know how she is.

Stubborn.

“Okay, well give it a try for me at least,” maybe you two can get through to her better than I can.

“Sure, thing Beta Tristan,” Lizzy replied.

“Thank You.  Now, get back to training.  If you are going to hang around my sister, you are going to have to have some strength to back up those words.” I tell them with a raised eyebrow.

“Oh, we don’t have to have the moves.  That’s what Addy is for,” Lizzy Says.

“Yeah, everyone is scared of her, even the shifted wolves.  We can do whatever we want because no one messes with her,” Gabby continues while they both laugh.

I shake my head at them and can’t help but chuckle myself, “Somehow that doesn’t surprise me.” I say as I continue to move to the next sparring partners.

As I continue with training, I can’t keep thinking about Addy.  I should have her come by the packhouse after school today.

I finished up training and then head to the packhouse.  I have a meeting with Alpha Jack and his son, my best friend, and future Alpha, Braxton.

As I am walking down the hallway to Alpha Jack’s office I run into Braxton.  “What’s up man, how did the pre shifters training go this morning?”  He asked as we gave each other our bro hug.

“It went well man; they are looking really good.  I can already see some of them being top warriors once they shift and train in their wolf form.” I replied as we walked towards his father’s office.

“Dude, did you know that everyone at school is scared of Addy?” I asked.

Braxton stopped in the middle of the hallway and turned to look at me with a questioning look.  “What do you mean?”

“Lizzy and Gabby told me earlier how everyone at school, even the ones with wolves, are scared of Addy.  They said they can do anything they want because no one will mess with her.” I said, and I couldn’t hold back my chuckle at the thought.

Braxton chuckled along with me, “I mean.  I guess it should surprise us.  It’s not like she hasn’t punched me a few times for crap I have said. To best honest,” He lowered his voice, “I’m kind of scared of her too.”

I couldn’t hold back my laughter as I patted his shoulder, “Same dude, Same.”

We continued our walk to the Alpha’s office before knocking and waiting for permission to enter.

We both stepped into the office and took a seat across form his father at his desk.

“Good morning, boys.”  “Good morning, Alpha.” We both replied.

Alpha Jack turned to me, “How are you doing kiddo?” with a sympathetic look in his eyes.

“It’s okay sir.  Just taking it one day at time.”  He gives me that soft smile and nods his head.

“How’s Addy?”  I notice Brax perk up at that question.  He has always had a protectiveness over her since we were young.  He always claims its like a big brother, but I have always felt it was something more.  Not that I would ever let him date my sister.  He knows I would kill him if he ever got near her like that, Alpha or not.

“She’s…. being Addy sir.  You know how she is.  Stays strong for all to see.”  He shook his head at that and looked out the window.  “Yeah, she has always been the strongest, just keep an eye on her.  Even the strongest need to weep.  Take care of our little moon.”

“Yes sir, you know I will.  I love her more than anything.”  He nods in approval and shifts to business about Braxton’s and I’s upcoming swearing in ceremony.  We will both be moving into our father’s roles now that we are 20.  He will move into the Alpha Role, Me into the Beta Role next week.  We decided not to change the timeline even after dad passed away last week, I just wish he was here to see it.
