Chapter 3. The Mistake and Consequences

*Ashley's POV*

I could not believe what Marga and Maria did, although I was with them but I am entirely against the whole plan. I wanted to kick myself for letting a young lady like Carmela get into trouble just because of my friends who were jealous of her. Catmela is so young and innocent, she actually believed the friendly smile that Marga gave her. She did what she is told in order to fit into our group. I wonder if she's that desperate to become friends with us and why.

"Are you sure it's alright to leave Carmela like that after the drinks?"

There is a call from my clean conscience inside my chest, I don't think she can handle the liquor with a little bit of ecstasy drug mixed in it. I have no idea how Marga took a hold of such thing and to think that she will give it to the birthday celebrant.

"Oh, come on she's a wolf. We are supposed to have high tolerance on both alcohol and drugs."

Maria laughed and look at me, it's as if she's telling me that I am human and I would not understand. Like what they did is just a joke and will have no effect to Carmela.

"But it can be harmful if she have not turned yet, I heard a wolf will developed the skills of transformation from the age of ten to sixteen but is still pretty much like human before that."

My parents have been friends with the Alpha King and few other good wolves in town so I know how it works, the transformation of a wolf since birth.

"Hmmm that is interesting Ash, you being knowledgeable about how our kind works."

Maria laugh and took a glass of wine from the table. I do hope inside my heart that nothing happened to Carmela after we leave her.

"I just knew, because you girls are my friends and so are how my parents getting along with other wolves."

"Ah, stop worrying now and let us get ourselves something to eat."

We both direct our way into the long table where the mouth watering foods are served. The wolves have everything laid out for human guests as well. However, my thoughts is occupied by what we just did, it is not alright and she could be in danger. While Marga and Maria are laughing and enjoying themselves, I suddenly excused myself and decided to go back. She could used my help if she's passed out somewhere in the Palace.

"Alright Ash, just make it quick or the food will be cold."

I nodded my head and paved the way towards the place where i remembered we left her. I saw her walking towards an alley before the girls and i decided to go. I am walking fast when I heard some people talking behind a tall figure of a wolf statue. It was huge and beautifully carved out of a white stone and marble, place in the corner of the Palace halls. I hid myself and listen carefully.

"The birthday celebrant is taken by Alpha King Jack, I heard she got sick all of a sudden. The great Alpha King is so worried that he asked for the help of the wizard in the Palace."

Those must be the Palace servants talking about what happened to Carmela. I noticed the two women dressed up in a black and white checkered dress. "Oh, it must be because of what those three girls who were with her did. Poor child, I hope she gets better soon otherwise the guests will be looking for her."

"Yeah right, I saw her with the three girls heading out to the liquor room before the incident happened. And don't you talk about this to anyone or you will get punished, the Alpha King have been giving all his attention to this young girl and I will not doubt that he would soon asked for her hand from Beta Derek."

A loud gasp could have escape from my mouth if I haven't covered it quickly with my other hand. After the two servants left and continue their work, I started thinking. There is a possibility that we might get punish for what happened. The girls and I have no idea that Carmela is very close to the Alpha King, I mean we all know she lives in the Langston Palace but that's only because her father works for him.

My legs ere shaking when I started heading back from where I came from. Then I grab the small purse i am carrying to take my phone and dialed my father's number. The line began to ring and then my dad answered.

"Hello, Ashley?"

I felt the relief flooding through my veins although my heart is still beating rapidly. "Dad, I think I'm ready to go home. Please come and pick me up."

"Oh is that all sweetie? You sounded like something bad happened, are you alright?"

I struggle to control my own emotions when I cleared my throat and laugh. "Nothing Dad, I was just feeling a slight headache from the crowd and the loud music."

"Oh! Don't worry Ash, I'm on my way. Please stay there for a little bit."

"Thank you Dad."

I turned the mobile phone off and put it back inside my purse before looking around to see if Marga and Maria is somewhere in the huge hall. I went back to the table full of food but I couldn't find them. The people around are chatting and dancing while others are drinking and eating but non of them looked like the two friends who were with me just a moment ago.

Where could they be? I kept asking myself that question when suddenly the air inside the huge hall changes and a group of people who's really different from the crowd emerges. There eyes scan the place, looking for someone.

I tried glancing all over the hall once more, looking for my friends but they are nowhere to find. Then all of a sudden, a loud male voice echoed through the air around the hall.

"Ashley Snipes! Hey! Listen up everyone. We are looking for the human girl who were with Marga Williams and Maria Antonette White! So if there is anyone here who knows this girl please step forward."

The music stopped and the people looked around and then towards each other. Five men, all big with muscles that's bulking over their shirts, they are wearing all black. There eyes are like daggers inspecting the guests one by one. The women gasps with anticipation while most of the men gritted their teeth unable to move, most specially the guests who's just normal like me.

My feet started trembling as I forced myself to take a step back. I wanted to hide from the crowd and get out of the place, fast.

"Hey you! Over there, come out and show yourself!"

A tall and big man spotted me behind the two guest who automatically move aside when they saw what's happening.

"I...ahm."

I stopped and did not move an inch while the big man approached me. "This is the other girl, there's no mistake. You've seen their photos together right?"

He was asking the warriors beside him and their eyes ran all over me before they nodded with each other. I held my breath when I felt the rough hands of the man in front of me against my arm. He is no man, the glint in his eyes is clearly filled with a wolf dominance.

"Come with us! This is a direct order from the Alpha King!"

I hesitated but could not break free from his hold. He is very strong and his eyes are piercing, that i had to look away and follow what he said. My other hand hold the purse which have my phone inside, i need to call my father. We were getting a little further away from the crowd when i heard the music being played again like nothing has happened.

"Where are you taking me?"

My voice trembles while i tried pulling my arm away from the wolf's hold. "Stop wasting your energy human girl, you cannot out run a warrior wolf. Not even if you are one of us."

The men behind us chuckles and i heard the other guy from the back say the answer to my question. "You will be taken for questioning together with your friends who did something unforgivable to the Alpha King."

I held my breath and bit my lower lip, so my two friends are already caught. "I'm so sorry Dad." I whispered to my father in the air. I hope i will have a slight time to call him and tell him about what happened. I did not mean to do something so terrible as to make the Alpha King upset.

"Please can i call my Dad? He is a friend of the Alpha King Jack. I am so sorry but believed me, we didn't  mean to harm the girl."

I was talking about Carmela, the girl that the Alpha King cares about. She must be very special to make the Great Alpha King this upset.

"We know who your father is and right now the other warriors are taking him to speak with the Alpha King."

Oh God, I hope my father is alright. I prayed silently while following the lead of the big warrior in front of me.
