The hours passed by though neither of them was ready to admit that it seemed like only a few minutes. They didn’t have to say anything between them as they looked at the two small sleeping newborns. Both of the adults were making plans for the next few days.
They began to hear a ruckus outside the room and in the main hallway of the ward. Kit was the first one on her feet and to the door to look out into the ward. The boys were still sleeping soundly, and she wanted to see if there was a problem, and if she could help. Before they woke up and they had to only focus on the babies.

“What do you mean?” Mitsuhide asked as they went into the room. She was tired he could already see. The loss of June was going to take a toll on her. She softened her gaze as she looked at the baby who was lying in the small crib. They both were starting to wake up slowly. The doctor went over everything with them in about an hour so they could be discharged early. The twins had to come back within three days for another round of bloodwork, but everything was that simple. As Mitsuhide went down to his car and got out the two car seats. Kit was packing up the supplies they had been given by the nurses. They had loaded the two adults up with many bottles and diapers that the twins could probably last about three or four weeks on those supplies alone. Kit knew they had their reasons for this. She smiled and thanked them and asked if the other families, regardless of the outcomes, could get the same amount of supplies for their new ones as well. Mitsuhide had completely settled into the couch after he had ordered dinner, and it had arrived. He watched Kit as she did the smallest of things and knew that he was just amazed by her. Though he also knew she had many things on her mind. The day had completely taken a toll on the both of them. It had been good for so many reasons, but at the same time, a part of him was now gone. They had gone from two people living together who were best friends to man and wife and then within hours had become parents for the first time. Life had a funny way of balancing things. The detective called an hour later. He was talking to Mitsuhide as Kit was dozing on the couch. Mitsuhide was listening to the man as he was rambling himself at the way everything had come to light. Mitsuhide had to shake his head; it seemed the detective was over his head as any normal person would be in sifting through this horribly tangled mess. Kit had been doing just that since the beginning, and it nearly tore her apart because she actually cared for people on both sides of it.“I could use some help with talking to this one. I think I may have to do something completely unconventional.” The detective stated. “She really won’t talk, and when she does, it is in scriptures.”

Kit walked to the room where the three males in her life were there waiting. She could hear Mitsuhide talking to one of the twins as he walked around with the other. He was almost begging it sounded like. “Mommy will be here as soon as she can be. I swear to you, Jaxon, she will be. It seemed as they laid down in bed with the boys tucked into their bassinets at the end of the bed, everything hit her. It was like watching a replay of the day from the moment that she left the house to the point they came back everything that happened, every decision she made. It was completely overwhelming her. Mitsuhide was groggy when his eyes opened, and for a minute, he wondered where he was. He was still getting used to living in her house as well. Though it had been two months of him always there, he still had some mornings where he was confused when he opened his eyes. The morning sun was in the window, and Kit was standing before it as she talked softly to the bundle in her arms. “You know I never expected this. I never thought I would have two wonderfully perfect babies in my life. I didn’t know everything would feel like this. A week went by, and the pair of adults knew they were on the right path with their sons. They had fallen into a basic routine that allowed both of them to get some rest during the day as the twins transitioned to sleeping at night. It seemed like the newborns had their timetable messed up, and they want to sleep during the day.
