I watched as Nick lost his last shred of sanity and humanity. I could literally see that light die in his eyes. I knew that I should be scared. I was standing in front of great evil. This vampire and his coven were powerful and worse than that, they had no morals or standards. They would rip us apart if we let them.

I wasn't scared though. I felt as though everything in my life had led up to this moment. Every thing I had gone through in the woods, with the pack, losing my Dad, even losing my Mom. All of it led here. I knew then that this was what I was meant to do.

This was bigger than Nick wanting me as his. This was about an evil council oppressing and harming the very Vampires they were supposed
