Chapter Thirty Seven - The Ball

Kari's POV

We met with my grandparents in a little room by the ballroom. They smiled as we entered, my Grandmother pulled me into her arms and hugged me to her.

"I knew that dress would suit you perfectly." She said.

"Thank you, Nanna," I whispered back. "I love it."

"You look like the Princess you are." She said holding me at arm's length so she could see me properly."That necklace is stunning."

"It was a gift from Grant," I tell her. "It is a replica of the heart..."

"Of the Ocean." She smiled. "One of my favorite films. I knew the Strauss family and a few others who traveled on her, so it is a film close to my heart."

"Huh?" I asked.

"We live a little longer than humans." My Grandfather said coming and kissing my cheek. "I am 97, but your Grandmother is 119."

My mouth dropped. He didn't look that old. truth be told he didn't look old enough to be my Grandfather.

"One of the elders on the council is nearly 300," Grant said with a smile.
