If the door wasn't locked, I knew I wouldn't be having this conversation with him. Probably he thought I belonged to his secret cult of bloodsuckers just because I fed on a dead man.

“You do realize you can't tell Marcus that?" he asked and I rolled my eyes at him. At that point, I pretty much didn't fear anyone. I didn't care if Marcus was the most dangerous vampire in LA, I wasn't going to bow to anyone.

“He doesn't own me, so I don't have to speak with him. Besides, I don't even speak with her anymore, so it's going to be hard to do that"

“Well since you don't feel attached to her anymore, that'll make things easier for us wouldn't it?". Jace suggested.
