Episode 2: I would rather die.

Melissa was so upset with everything that was happening in her life but she had no where else to go.

If she had made any valuable friends at all it would be Lisa and Sara, but they too were also insisting she should get married to Frederick, but she doesn't want to be stuck as someone's house wife all her life. Worse yet to a proud and rich man.

She feels there has to be more to life than being a full-time house wife to someone whom she doesn't have any feelings for.

Melissa wants to marry for love not for wealth or power like her mother thinks, or the popular norm at that time but live a peaceful and quiet and normal life.

And marrying Frederick wasn't going to do any of that.

She wants to travel the world with the one whom her heart beats for, someone she longs to see again even after all this year's she kept in her heart, Nicholas Stetson.

The sun wasn't scorching hot at it usually does, today it was quite windy and this is one of the best weather Melissa loves to explore in the jungle.

She decided to go out to the forest to admire nature, she put on her pants, her outfit and took her little sword, placed on her waist belt. Wore her knee length ankle boots and stormed out of her room only to be met with the one face she never wanted to see that day, Frederick Stein's.

'Great my day is ruined.' she thought.

Frederick Stein was sitting comfortably at the sitting room sipping on a cup of coffee waiting patiently for his woman or so he likes to think.

So when the door to her room opened, and he saw her looking ravishing he smiled, stood up and said,

"Hi my angel, so nice of you to dress up for me, you sure are looking beautiful for our date this afternoon."

"What are you doing here Frederick?" Melissa asked ignoring his flattering words.

"Oh the sound of my name from your melodious voice makes my heart rejoice sweetie."

Melissa rolled her eyes in discomfort, she was not at all in any way happy one bit.

"I asked you a question didn't I?" Melissa asked yet again.

"Melissa!!" Stephanie her mother exclaimed telling her to act like a lady that she was.

Her looks were indicating that she acted with more poise as she was a lady.

"Well, Mrs Stephanie, stay out of this, it's a couple issue, if you would please give us some privacy." Frederick said sternly.

"Of course son, do have a nice time with your woman." Stephanie bowed apologizing.

'I wonder who I killed in my past life to have a useless mother like this one, she can't even stand up for me.' Melissa thought as she saw her mother retreating.

Stephanie walked away leaving the young ones to sort themselves out.

"Come on darling, let's go have some fun." Frederick said smiling

'There is no use getting on his bad side, just play along for now.' Melissa thought.

"Where are you taking me?" She asked.

"Oh darling we have a lot to catch up on and do today." Frederick retorted.

"Well, I was about to go have fun somewhere else but if you are taking me somewhere it should be worth my while, but once I get a feeling that you have something up your sleeve I am out." Melissa blurted.

"I promise it is going to be worth your while, we are going to have a lovely picnic, just the two of us, and also visit my garden and there, we'll talk about us." Frederick stated.

'This is going to be a long boring day for me.' Melissa thought.

She knew, right now she has no powers or motives, she couldn't say no outrightly since her mother still calls the shots and besides it felt like she was being sold out to this man.

Also, the gifts sent to her, Stephanie and her perverted husband squanders it. If it were up to Melissa she wouldn't even untie any.

She hated Frederick guts so much, and it was evident in the way she speaks to him. the

She is only hoping he takes hint and stops pursuing her, but a man in love hardly sees any flaws from the woman their heart beats for.

Stephanie was excited that her daughter was going out with the most important and powerful person in all of Wyoming and this brought her pride amongst her contemporaries.

The women in her neighbourhood all wants to make friends with her since she will have Frederick Stein as a son in-law soon, so in their eyes she was untouchable and the best connection to have.

Melissa and Frederick left in a most exquisite carriage and they drove off.

They got to a field and a huge carpet was placed down, there were basket of fruits, bread, cheese, red wine and wine glasses for them both.

Seeing this, her stomach grumbled loudly making Frederick smile.

'This is stupid, why would you have to make a sound right now? Now he will have even something else to gloat about.' Melissa thought.

Frederick held her hands and led her to the carpet laid and they sat down.

"Let's eat first, it would seem your stomach needs this right now."

Melissa ate to her fill, she was starving and the man beside her knows this too. So rather than hide and make those cheese go to waste, she divulged every bit of her share, drank her cup of wine.

Frederick was stunned and amazed by this, he mostly just stares and admires her as she ate.

Melissa has this red hair color it was natural, her green eyes and long lashes makes it quite spectacular to notice due to the beauty radiating from it.

As she munches the cheesecakes, her hair was encircled by the wind.

'She is beautiful, I know she doesn't want to be anywhere around me, but I am not letting you go, never, I would rather die.' Frederick thought.

After they were done eating he spoke out.

"Melissa, has anyone ever told you, you look beautiful and eat so beautifully?"

"Well, I know I am beautiful I don't need someone to reassure me. But as for the eating part, that is new." Melissa said.

"Haha... nice, glad I am the first to notice that."

Melissa nodded and continued to sip in on her wine.

Since she was here, she better just take in the view and enjoy herself.

She couldn't run away even if she wanted to because there is no one to elope run away with... so for now she has decided to play along with whatever the society expects of her.

After all this is the west, where all shit happens.

"Melissa?" Frederick called out softly.

"Hm?"

"Please give me a chance to be the one in your heart." Frederick said.
