Chapter 76: Mine

I slowly turned my head around to confirm my suspicions. Lingering over me maliciously was my old master, Lucas. I jumped away from him in terror and took several steps back to where Damon and Derek stood petrified. I slowly started to shake my head, denying the terrors that lay in front of me.

Lucas stood burning in the setting sun. His suit was torn and hanging at odd angles, and his normally perfect hair sat greasy and unkempt on his head. Burns was starting to emerge all over his body from the sun, but he didn't seem fazed in the least. Jace seemed to want to help him but Lucas dismissed him.
