The Office

Daniels POV

I walked towards headquarters and entered the door, I was greeted by a few people walking in. Two staff sergeants started to approach me upon entry, Mikels and O'reilly, I should mention Staff sergeant is the highest rank on the base. They were both short men about 5’5, Mikels had shaved brown hair with brown eyes, he was about 40 years old. O’reilly was a shaved blonde man also around 40, with blue eyes. Both of them were in uniform as they walked up and I saluted them. Mikels then said,

“At Ease Daniels.”

“Yes sir!”

“How was your patrol of the town?” Asked O'reilly.

“It was quiet sir.” I responded. “But me and my team came across a civilian who has lived on his own for eight years, we have brought him to the base feeling his skills could be useful.”

“Good eye Sergeant! We will process him later. We will also debrief you as well later on after the matter of the civilian is settled.” Mikels praised me. I felt warm at the praise these two men gave me, I looked up to them.

“For right now go to the quarters management to get him a bunk and barracks so he can clean himself up.” O'reilly said.

“Yes Sir!”

“Dismissed.” Mikels then said. I saluted and went on my way to the quarters management. I take off past the desk to the right into an office area and walk over to Jenkins, a cute 5 '3 blonde haired woman, she is 31. she has a petite build but man she could knock you on your ass faster than you could “ahh.” We have hooked up a few times in the past but nothing serious. I stroll up and clear my throat to catch her attention.

“Ahem.”

“Daniels you're back!” she flashed a cute smile at me.

“Yes and I have to get a new civilian, a bunk and barracks.” I said, giving her a stern look.

“Oh, you’re no fun when you’re working! Lighten up a bit, you know, you could swing by my tent tonight.” She whispered seductively.

“Oh I just might,” I said, giving her a smile.

“That’s settled!, let me check the files of unoccupied bunks real quick.” She bent over in her desk to rummage through her file cabinet. After about a minute she pulls a form out.

“Okay so Barracks J, bunk four, name?” She asked at the end.

“Zane.”

“Last name?”

“Uh not sure.”

“Age?”

“Not known.”

“Birthdate?”

“Not a clue”

“Come on, you didn’t even ask? Why do you have to make my work so hard for me?” She said with pouty face directly pointed at me.

“I was more shocked by the fact he lived 8 years on his own.” I responded.

“Damn!” She said very impressed.

“Yeah.”

“Well Bring him in later and I will fill out the rest of this form.” She stated.

“Alright I will. What barracks and bunk number again?”

“Barracks J, bunk four.”

She handed me a key, presumably to give to Zane.

“Right, thanks, see you later.” I said slyly

“I’m hoping for it.” She smiled again, damn that smile was gorgeous. I turn around and I proceed to exit the office area. I walk down the hallway and get to the main foyer and leave out the doors.
