As Sergio got ready to make breakfast, Serena went into the kitchen and poured herself a glass of water. She took a sip of her water before she continued watching Sergio preparing breakfast. A familiar smell reached her nose.

“What are you making?” Sergio stopped stirring the batter and turned around.

“Pancakes,” he replied.

“Really? Is that what I smell?” Sergio nodded.

“Good because I can’t wait for it!”

Serena took the two plates Sergio set on the table and sat down next to him.

“It smells amazing! Thanks!” she said excitedly.

“You’re welcome, sweetheart.” Sergio gave her another quick peck on the cheek.

Soon enough, the food was ready. Sergio carried one plate over to Serena’s place and put it down. Then he sat on his seat and waited for Serena to finish her breakfast.
