Priorities!

When she gets there, she takes another step forward. And another step. And another. Until eventually, she reaches the basement.

She walks over to the couch where the box she found is lying on. She grabs it and walks to the entrance of the house, shutting the door behind her.

As she reaches the top of the driveway, she stops walking, staring at the street ahead of her. Her hand is gripping tightly onto the box containing the necklace which is now resting in the palm of her left hand.

She hesitates for a brief second. Should she really do it? What if it does get worse?

She decides to take a risk. She places the box down gently on one of the chairs in the garage before opening it up. Once it is open, she pulls out the necklace carefully, careful not to drop the box.

Once she has it in her hands, she looks down at it. It looks exactly the same as it did the day she found it. Same design and color, same small charm hanging on its chain.
