Chapter 35 - The Party

Prince Mharl's call to Marie’s family in the Philippines was not known to anyone even to her. The arrangement to send the money was done without the knowledge also of neither the palace nor anyone except for the few friends and staff the prince contacted.

Marie called her mother, one day. “Mother, is there anything that happened that I didn’t know? How do you get into debt? Why $1 million? And why do you have debt?” Marie was almost in tears as she asked her mother when she decided to call herself.

On the other line, a sigh was heard, and a deep breath. “Mar, I don’t know where to start…”

Back at the castle, the king and queen later learned what Prince Mharl did when they asked his secretary about his activities and schedules in a private meeting. Now the highnesses summoned Prince Mharl to the room.

“Dad, Mom, I just want to help her. She doesn’t know all about this because I knew she would get angry with me.”

“How about what her country will say to us?” The prince’s mother asked
