Chapter 139

As my eyes slowly fluttered open, I found myself momentarily disoriented, struggling to recognise my surroundings. But with a swift visual sweep of the room, it became clear that I was inside a hospital. There, sitting on a white plastic chair, was Noah, hunched over by my bedside, likely catching some shut-eye. Curiosity about the time prompted me to raise my hand, only to discover the presence of an IV tube attached to the back of my hand.

Noah seemed to sense my movement and lifted his head, meeting my gaze with a warm smile. "Hey, you're awake," he sayid, relief evident in his voice. "You gave me quite a scare back there. Are you okay?"

Attempting to sit up, a twinge of discomfort courses through my back, causing me to let out a groan. I resigned myself and settled back onto the bed with a sigh. "Where are we?" I inquired, seeking clarification.

"We're at Sandralia hospital. You fainted," Noah responded, his tone conveying both concern and reassurance.
