I don’t know what to expect when we come out of that bedroom. I didn’t know what to expect when Elijah came back to himself. What I didn’t expect was the easy understanding he showed when I told him who and what I truly am. I wasn’t expecting him to make love to me the way he did just now. “Turn baby, so I can wash your hair.” Turning, I stumbled a little. His big hands landing on my hips once more to steady me. “Good?” He asks me as I feel him nuzzling the side of my neck. “I’m good.” I say softly as he reaches over me grabbing the bottle of shampoo. The smell of apple wood surrounds me as I take a deep breath.

“That smells so good.” I remark as he chuckles and starts washing my hair. “You know what really smells good?” I moan as he chuckles. “What would that be?” I ask feeling euphoria as his long fingers massage my scalp. “The warm smell of my mom’s hot chocolate on a cold night. You know the smell of chocolate and peppermint.”
