Author’s Pov

After what felt like an eternity, the doctor came out. Immediately we surrounded him.

“ Doctor, how is my son?” Yashvardhan was the first person to speak up.

“ The operation was successful.” All the faces were beaming with pure joy.

“ But,” He continued. “ Due to the large amount of blood loss, his heart rate and blood pressure have dropped. Though blood was transfused on time, his body went into shock, which meant his brain was shut down for some time. We are doing our best, but it seems he has lost the will to survive.” The doctor paused for some time

“ Doctor, please save my son. His daughter is too small to lose both her parents. She is waiting eagerly for her father's return. You are considered equal to god. I beg you.” What an irony of life. He is the king and still begging and pleading with folded hands. With all the wealth and money he has, he cannot buy his son's life.

“ Sir, I am just a human being who is trying his best to save your son. That is my duty, but
