Chapter 77- I'll Pack The Snacks

The next morning after a hearty breakfast, Amberleigh and Leo began their reconnaissance mission involving the Godwin. It began with Leo giving a quick call to the secretary of Grayson’s office to fish for information. The chef knew the woman well enough to have a laugh with Holland and ask her about her son Easton. While he chatted her up, Amber sat in the background making quick work of the piece of bacon Leo had left behind on the tray. There was no need to let it go to waste. That was a cardinal sin in her books leaving a piece of bacon behind.

Amber could see it in the tense lines of Leo’s face when Holland inadvertently called Grayson out on his bullshit. Leo had made a comment about seeing if the president of the Godwin Railroad had any appointments with the investors this afternoon because Leo wanted to stop by the office. The chef said “Oh I see. My mistake,” before he politely ended the call.
