Amora arrived in town six hours later. This time she had a very big mission, so she would make sure everything went smoothly.
The borders weren't as tightly guarded as they used to be. Liam said maybe it was due to the influence of an attack some rogues carried out a few months ago.
The rogues failed to master the pack as well as multiply themselves. So, they went into hiding and stopped wreaking havoc.
"Where are we headed?" asked one of the members who escorted her away.
Liam assigned two members to her. Considering she was not too good at protecting herself, as well as anxiety about bad things that might happen.
"We will go to the community building," said Amora. "I have shared the location with you, right?"
"OK!"
The car sped again across the city streets. Memories of the past seemed to vibrate from within
“Collins!” Amora called, feeling her lips tremble. He was her ex-boyfriend! But she didn't remember that very well. Was their relationship going well? What made them break up?Collin walked like a giant. His long legs blasted cold air until he exited the building swiftly.Amora had a hard time chasing him. After he turned and arrived at the back of the building, she managed to grab him by the arm to stop him.“Collin!” She pulled his arm again, panting because he was tired of chasing after his very fast footsteps.Collin turned his head in a swift motion, like a dire predator. He saw her grin, suddenly her face turned pale. Without saying anything else, he gave off a threatening aura.Choking, she shivered with fear. "I want to talk with you."“If you want to change my decision, th
"Amora?" Collin asked nervously. "You're going to take these producers to visit that village in the forest, right? They could give you a lot of money."Amora clenched her fists. She appreciated Collin's help. He seemed very earnest, even after she had forgotten him and disappointed him. This proved he was a good man.But bringing Morgan and Khail wasn't that easy, especially when she had covered up a lot of things about Liam and the Blood Stone pack.Getting pressure, she finally answered as best she could, "I'll try to talk to them." She grimaced awkwardly. "But I can't promise anything. They don’t want to get close to outsiders."Morgan seemed to understand that, although Khail still seemed to want Amora to work something out. They were producers who had very different temperaments."I guess that makes sense," Morgan nodded, much to Amora's relief. "The inland tribes don't like interacting with outsiders. They're very secretive and sometimes even go wild when they see outsiders."Am
Morgan and Khail already knew Amora was a werewolf. They even threatened to do some harm to her.Now she was backed into a corner especially when the fundraiser didn't go as planned. They didn't get the funds they expected."So, is there no other carnival coming up?" Amora twiddled her fingers with worry and embarrassment. She looked like she was begging. "Normally you guys would hold it in three days, right?""We already used the funds for social activities a few weeks ago." Amber looked down as if she was leaving everything to herself. "Sorry, Amora."Collin looked calm because he knew Morgan and Khail would help Amora. But he had no idea what the two producers would do to her. "Why are your expressions showing as if this is the end of everything? The fundraising period will only end in two days. We still have a chance to reach our target.""True
"I think we know something." Morgan turned to Khail as if asking for support. "It's information about the enemies."Liam's back suddenly tensed. Excitement ran through his body. "Really?"Khail nodded. "We'll give you more information if you want."Liam wasn't going to waste this golden opportunity. It had been a long time since he had seen Khail and Morgan. They were very close when they were kids. If their sense of brotherhood wasn't strong then they wouldn't care about each other, especially Khail and Morgan who were now living a happy and wealthy life.Liam took them to his room. He could see Apollo pacing not far from where they were talking. Remembering Amora's advice, he hurried to take preventive actions.Amora, on the other hand, rolled uncomfortably on the bed. She was exhausted after battling with her emotions.
Liam let Khail and Morgan drive the car. After meeting at a point in the forest, Liam left his car. A member who drove for him took it, following Khail and Morgan's.They didn't talk much on the way because they already knew what was going to happen and what they were going to do. That was enough. Moreover, they did not know where the enemies were. Perhaps the enemies were spread out around them and were eavesdropping.Khail sat up tensely after seeing a strangely chiseled boulder. They passed by it as his hands dug into his pockets for weapons."Is it time?" whispered Liam, seeing Morgan nod. They were alert, including the driver. Their eyes scanned around, the area filled with dense trees. A path they crossed. It must have left a trail. If they didn't want the enemies to find them, then they had to find the enemies first.&n
Amora had noticed some strange activity at Liam's house lately. Some members would suddenly enter into groups. They would head to Liam's study, stay in there for a while, then leave with serious faces. But some came in and out with tired faces. When Amora asked Mrs. Smith about it, she simply said that it was probably a building rush. "You know that they have to finish the construction, Miss? Especially with the rainy season coming up."Amora frowned. "Is the rainy season still coming for sure? I guess since global warming, everything is unpredictable." She let out a long sigh as Mrs. Smith shrugged."Just ask Master, miss." Mrs. Smith was wiping down some furniture and brushing off some dust with a duster. "If you dare. Sir seems very busy these days.""I'll ask him later." Amora was going to help Mrs. Smith. But suddenly Wi
"You know something, Amora?" Liam waited with an expression that was both anxious and excited. Maybe he would find the answer to all these riddles. He would know who his real enemy was."My memory just suddenly came back." Amora watched the video still playing on Liam's cell phone screen. After she paused and closed her eyes again, she was even more certain about it. "When I was taken to the Black Dragon headquarters, some humans who were used as slaves were turned into werewolves right in front of me.""Did they do that to you too?" Liam tensed up, feeling his head grow dizzy. If he got one more clue, maybe he'd know something.Amora tried to recall it. The more she tried, the farther away the memories got and eventually blurred out of touch. Then she shook her head. "Sorry, that's all I remember." She looked down grimly.Liam nodded, trying to understand her condit
"You're right. I'm still thinking about this too. But I haven't gotten any confirmation yet. I don't know if the rogue leader is dead or kidnapped. Some leaders abandon their people for their benefit. And the leader of the rogues might be like that too.""That's very depressing." Amora pondered. Why was she so sensitive about this? What had she gone through without realizing it? "So, you don't know who the enemy is yet? I mean, besides the rogues?""I've figured it out even if I didn't get the details." Liam ruffled his hair. "The rogue said that the real enemy is in the pack."
