When we had first arrived, Winslow had others chain me to the wall, and that was the first time I had regretted the choice I had made–not that I saw another path I could have taken. Not with Harper’s life being threatened. Over the past several days, I tried to convince myself that this was just some sort of weird precaution he was taking to make sure I didn’t try to run away or turn on him the moment I could.

This was the second time I felt like I had made a mistake, and I was convinced that my life was in serious danger.

We approached a set of double doors, and when we pushed through them, it was like we had walked into a completely different world.
