Chapter 39

Cole's PoV

Monday 6th May 2019

I sigh sadly as I watch the coach drive away from the school with my boyfriend and my best friend on board. They said I have to wait until tonight to call them so that means I'm all alone until Marcus wakes up at about midday. What am I supposed to do now? Talk to other people?

"Cole McCall! Are you even listening to me?" The substitute teacher shouts from the front of the classroom.

"Of course I'm not," I reply smugly. Her face scrunches up like she's about to explode and I almost laugh.

"Get outside! I'll deal with you later," she says and I happily go outside the classroom. However, I don't stay there, I keep walking to the front of the school and go to leave.

"Where are you going?" Asks the receptionist.

"I've been sent home, my dad is waiting outside for me," I lie effortlessly. She nods and goes back to whatever she's writing. I light a cigarette and inhale the smoke angrily. Why did they have to go and leave me? I
