CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

Scarlett’s POV

My heart raced as I looked around the tiny space we had been trapped in for what felt like an eternity. Emily and Freda, my companions, stood beside me, their faces etched with exhaustion and relief as we surveyed the broken stones and rubble that had once sealed us in.

The experience had been harrowing, to say the least. The temple had promised answers and insights beyond our wildest dreams with its ancient, mystical powers, drawing us in. But as we explored deeper, the entrance had collapsed behind us, leaving us with no way out.

For hours we had searched for an escape, our stomachs growling with hunger and our throats parched with thirst. But the temple seemed to have no exit, no way for us to escape its clutches.

I feared for our lives more than once, wondering if we would ever see the light of day again. But somehow, through sheer determination and grit, we had finally found a way out.
