Richard’s POV:

Why was she still up at this time, I wondered to myself as I heard Arielle’s voice calling out persistently through the mind link.

I groaned inwardly, before calli out.

‘Angel,’ I called out to her. I heard silence after a while.

‘Richard? Is that you?’ she asked me through the mind link.

True to thought, she also sounded addled with sleep. However there was something else added to it; a sort of frustration I had not expected to hear from that sweet voice of hers at this time of night.

Turning my head to glance at the alarm clock on my bedside table right beside me, I noted that the time was 11pm.

‘Yes it’s me,’ I replied before asking, ‘Is everything okay? Who are you calling out to, angel?’

‘I’m… I don’t know,’ she finally admitted and I could hear a tinge of curiosity in her voice. ‘I heard someone calling my name. But it must have been a dream,’ she sounded dismissive of everything.

I chuckled.
