GREY’S POV

Sitting in the dining room to eat was something I rarely did. My food, anytime I requested it, was brought up to my office or room, so I had no reason to go to the dining room except during special occasions.

But, I went there today. I tried not to give the people that were serving me the stink eye. It wasn’t their fault that they were surprised to see me there. I also surprised myself by going there. Why did I go there? I wasn’t sure either.

A few moments after I started eating, Richmond and Kate walked into the dining room.

“Look who’s here today,” Rich mocked as he settled into the chair next to me. I rolled my eyes at the realization that I had to listen to his annoying voice while I was eating.

After what happened this morning, I had a bitter taste in my mouth, even as I felt bad for what I did. She had helped me, but I repaid her kindness by being a bastard. I don’t think she even realized how much she helped me. I’d been having a rough time recently because of lack
