BLOOM

I went to check up on Ray. Even though I knew Grey would oppose it if he knew, I couldn’t just sit back and do nothing, couldn’t pretend not to care about how Ray was feeling. He wasn’t in the gym so I checked the training arena, and sure enough, I found him there. He noticed me and immediately stopped hitting the punching bag. Beads of sweat fell down his face and neck, and that shouldn’t have looked good, but it did.

He undid his gloves and tossed them on the ground before coming out from the ring. I just watched, not knowing what to say, only hoping that he was fine. He stopped right in front of me and waited.

“Uh…”

“He doesn’t want you to train with me anymore?” He asked and when I didn’t reply, he nodded in understanding. “I guessed as much,” he said, then turned and walked up to the table where he picked up a bottle of water and gulped down most of its contents.

“I just came to say I’m really sorry for what happened yesterday.” I wished he would turn around and look at me
