Seventy-three

The sun blared its scourging heat as it shone down on the silver roofing of the meeting room, making it glisten like pearls that had just passed through fire. Within the four corners of the large rooms sat thirty-six alphas, who had converged for the fortnightly meetings; each alpha representing a province of their pack.

It was quite common that at least a head or two were missing at the meeting, and on more surprising occasions, the usual and expected number will be halved; each absentee having his own reason for not being able to attend.

From its unique architectural exterior and exquisitely designed interior, it was deemed one of the most expensive buildings in the city. It was made so as a means of honouring the reputations and caliber from which each alpha was coming from. However there were quite a number of people who felt the whole extravagance of it was unnecessary, as nothing else happened in the building except for the fortnightly meetings.
