Thirty-six

Aria felt butterflies in her stomach as she held on to Damien's hand. His palm against hers felt warm. It felt protective. It felt welcoming.

Damiem stole another glance from Aria. He noticed that there was a smile on her face. She was not even trying to take his hand away from hers. She clinged to it like it was her source of life. This brought a smile to Damien's face as well.

He knew where he was leading her. He made turns through the paths that were lined with carpet grass and occasional passersby. Damien paid no heed to them. His destination was etched like a map in his mind.

"Aria?" Damien suddenly called to her.

Aria tilted her head up at him with raised brows. "Yes, Damien?" She answered.

Damien hesitated a bit. He wanted to get to know Aria better. It had just occurred to him that he did not know much about her.

He needed to know her likes and dislikes. He needed to know what she could stand and not stand. This was probably the best way to get her to loosen up to him.
