Chapter 13 – Time to Train "You know better then to run off." Alex growls out furiously, pacing the room in his anger. I just roll my eyes, focusing on drying my hair with the towel. After playing in the forest with the mysterious man, I returned to the temple covered in mud. I was lucky that a Temple Acolyte helped me to my room where I was met with a frantic Alex trying to find me. His lecture began then, mud dripping onto the floor below me as he goes on about me sneaking out in the morning without his knowledge until I managed to escape into the washroom where I promptly focused my energy into shifting into human form. I knew he would be waiting for me to exit, so after showering I took my sweet time running a bubble bath and enjoying hot water and endless time to myself for the first time ever. “Alex, I don’t get why you are mad. You needed sleep and I just had to see what my wolf was like.” I retort with, causing my brother to stop dead in his tra
Chapter 14 – A Place to Call Home I frown as my gaze focuses on the trees outside, staying close to the window and as far away from the others in the room. Alex sighs in frustration while my father sips his coffee awkwardly. Ira was called for an emergency after my shower, leaving an Acolyte to lead us to her office and wait for her return to discus a good position for my own pack to be built. Amberle, to my amusement, decided to curl up on the sofa to take a nap. You would think a strong Alpha would be more energetic but seeing as only a few years ago she was in my position as a Rogue I actually envy her ability to sleep when ever. “Gem, I just don’t understand why you do not want to go to your father’s pack.” Alex growls out, running a hand through his hair in frustration after a moment of silence causing me to close the book I was reading to glare at him. “You would be safer there and not have to worry about pack duties. There will b
Chapter 15 – A New Pack “See that trail just ahead of us?” Ira asks pointing to a barely touched trail to what I assume is for ATV use. “Yes.” I confirm, slowing down as I wait for her to continue. “Good, turn left onto it and keep driving till we reach a clearing.” She exclaims and I smile, switching my left turn signal on and slowly turning onto the barely there dirt path. I cringe as the tires to my precious car bounce on the bumpy terrain, Ira clinging onto the handle above the passenger window. Only one vehicle can fit, the bushes and grass brushing against the side of my car. Hopefully there will be no scratches by the time we reach our destination. [Remind me to get this god forsaken path cleared and properly paved.] Alex links and I chuckle. [Trust me, this will be priority number one when the pack is established.] I agree instantly. The final stretch is slow, the speed of our cars staying around t
Chapter 16 – Mother "Alpha are you in here?" A voice calls out, the sound distorted and dream like as I float in the moon pool. The silver water shimmers with the light of the full moon above me. It has been over two years since my rejection, two years since founding Silver Crystal Crescent Pack and two years of meeting my mother Lisandra for training in the dream scape. “Quiet, she is going to the dream scape to train with her mother.” Ariven warns as lowly while my eyes close and I let the magic surround me. My eyes open and I find myself gazing down at earth, the sky alight with stars as the galaxy shines above me. I am in the dream scape, a lush garden of moon flowers growing from moon stones surrounding me with the trickle of a small stream sounding from my left. "Gem you're late." The melodic voice of my mother reaches me and I smile as I rush to her arms and hold her tight. For the past two years I have gotten to
Chapter 17 – Leaving to Help “How long will you be gone?” I sigh as Alex helps me pack my luggage into my car, my brother giving me a smile. Since creating my pack and making Alex my Beta my brother has mellowed out on his over protective attitude towards me. It helps that he found his mate in the form of a Rogue wolf seeking a pack after being thrown out by her Alpha for refusing to sleep with him and fighting back. “I have no idea. Maybe a week or two. Did Riv tell you where we are going? I’ve asked him but he always changes the subject.” I answer, asking my own question as Lizaria walks to us with a very pregnant Missy beside her, the Beta Female glowing with her pregnancy. “No he did not, but I can always come with you.” Alex answers and I role my eyes. “No, you have a pregnant wife who will be bursting any day now.” Is my retort as Missy reaches us an chuckles. “That and I’d kick your ass for missing
Chapter 18 – Meeting the Past The drive to the pack in need of aid is as smooth as can be, only having a delay when at our third hotel the searing pain of my so called mate fucking some she wolf causes me to be immobile for a day. My body felt like knives leaving tiny sliver on my skin as the torture of this feeling had Ariven drugging me and make me sleep for a day and night only to be woken up by the sound of wolves chattering and moving around. “Where are we?” I mumble out drowsily, burying my face in the pillow below me as Ariven’s scent wraps around me. A deep chuckle shakes the pillow I am snuggling into and I quickly realize that it is not a pillow, but Ariven’s body. “Am I comfortable Darling?” Ariven asks, a hand running gently through my hair. “Yes.” I answer, hiding my hot face from his view. Another deep chuckle and gentle hands playing with my hair slowly lulls me back to sleep. “We are in the
Chapter 19 – Confronting the Past “What the hell are you doing here Geminie?!” Mika growls out, refusing to sit as he anger radiates across the room. I roll my eyes at his outburst, flipping through the binder prepared for today and taking out a contract signed by him. “That my dear EX-mate is a good question. As I stated, being an Alpha with a request I already approved of as well as the Future Moon Goddess, I have obligations I must fulfill.” I state mater of factly, throwing the contract towards Mika and leaning back on the chair. “Besides, the Head Priestess would give me an earful for neglecting my duties as the daughter to the Moon Goddess.” I add at the end, my eyes glowing silver as I try my best to hide my rising emotions. Lace gasps in shock, her head snapping in my direction as she sizes me up. “What do you mean?” The she wolf questions, once again causing me to roll my eyes. “It’s as I state
Chapter 20 – Following my Paws I run as fast as my four legs can carry me, my fur blowing in the wind as I jump over ditches, fallen trees and streams. I needed to release the remainder of the pent up anger before I can return to helping Hidden Claws. I couldn’t allow my emotions to get the better of me while here. My paws carry me to a familiar path, wading through a stream that quickly becomes a river leading to a familiar waterfall that I have not visited in years. With ease I slip behind the vines and continue down the tunnel until the secret valley where Lizaria and the unicorns used to live. My safe haven away from Hidden Claws. Trotting to the familiar willow tree, I curl into a ball underneath and open the link that can reach through time and space thanks to my mother. [Liz.] I call out, a whimper to my voice. [Yes Little Wolf?] Her voice calms me and I give a small smile, happy to know the Elf can hear me. [The p
