Chapter 41

ZAYN'S POV

I paced in my room and my wolf was also restless – it felt like something was wrong. The feeling of uneasiness had been growing inside me ever since I walked out on Eva angrily and I haven't been able to shake it off. I felt like something was wrong, but I couldn't put my finger on what it was. My wolf had been telling me to go and check on Eva, but there wasn't enough time. The Alpha King, Alpha Ambrose, did not tolerate lateness, and I had to be present at the dining table early – I had to be on my best behavior because of how I rudely spoke to him recently.

I took a deep breath and tried to calm my nerves because I couldn't let my anxiety get the best of me. I had to act like everything was fine so I straightened myself and made my way to the dining hall.

As I entered the room, I saw that I was the first to arrive. I took my seat at the table and waited for the others to come. Not long after, Adrian came down the stairs with a girl on his arm – a girl that wasn't Eva. I
