Amante POV

The Aswang clan surprisingly welcomed me. Allyssa’s parents hosted me into a lavish

guestroom for my stay. I could have just shrugged it off, should have, knowing Allyssa

would not be happy about it. Now that the Lopez was a goner, I have their apartment all

for myself, for the time being, of course.

I would guess. My confusion, being lost in this vast world, terrible past consigned to

oblivion, future unforeseen, and heartbroken; it made me feel like a lone leaf that fell off

from its rooted tree, swept away by the strong current of waters of a river called life.

It was a mystery how Allyssa’s parents tend to my needs, behaving like they were

honored for me being here. They made sure all my necessities were satisfied before

retiring to the master bedroom.
