Chapter One Hundred Four

Amante POV

It was almost midnight. The cauldron-black sky was adorned by a few faintly sparkling stars and the heavy clouds half-covered moon. Its vague brightness feels gloomy with the shadows of snowflakes raining scarcely down the frozen grounds of Verte Monde. The chilly breeze was howling in the distance adding more mystery to the almost tranquil territory of the hidden werewolves’ clan.

As my group entered the barren but already opened gates of the village, I sensed it. There were dangers, concealed and lurking in the dark. I was alarmed by the intensity of it that I warned my companions in a haste. Right on time indeed, as the elder wolf leading our group in the front ducked down, the irritating scent of gunpowder coming from a loose, hissing bullet from one of the buildings ahead of us. It was empowered by a powdered silver!
