I snapped out of it immediately, asking my question again. “Do you have a girlfriend?”

“No.” He answered, looking away.

“It didn't seem so.” I answered, looking away. When I looked back, he was staring at me.

“What do you mean? He asked with a baffled look on his face.

“Well, no offense, you don't just look like someone who even believes in love.” I said, not wanting to hurt his ego.

“Well. Love is for weak people.” He said loudly and strongly but the look in his eyes said something entirely different. His eyes looked hurt and I knew that he must have gone through some hurt in the past.

“I'm sorry for whatever hurt you.” I responded as he turned to me, staring blankly. “Goodbye for now.” As I jiggled back to Diane's chambers, I stopped to look back and he was still there, probably still in shock about the questions I asked him.

As I walked back, I noticed that the stars began to twinkle in the sky, it was such a beautiful sight to behold. I wished my mother could see it with me
