“I understand you, perfectly well.” I told Cleo.

The truth was that no matter what, I couldn't ever force my mother to come with me. I had decided that we would stay for some days so she could change her mind but staying a few days doesn't guarantee that she would change her mind.

Cleo smiled at me.

“I finally met your husband today, he's so fine.”

“Oh.” Cleo blushed. “Thank you, I'm grateful.”

“I hope everything is going well with you guys? I believe there's no issue.” I asked. I didn't like Dan and I felt so unsafe around him. I wanted to know if he was truly treating her well.

“He's the best, actually.” Cleo answered, excitedly.

“I'm so happy for you.” I told her.

“Thanks dear.” She replied and stood up. “I wouldn't like to distract you and you're..” Cleo said, winking at me while pointing at Thorne. “I'll leave now.”

I laughed and watched her go.

“We leave tomorrow.” I muttered to myself. I was happy that I did my very best in trying to convince Mother to go with me.
