Chapter 60

It was still 5 am when I woke up. It was going to be a long journey ahead even though I didn't tell my family except my mother that I was leaving.

Me leaving was sudden and something I must do. I took my bath quickly and went to knock on Laura's door, knowing she might actually oversleep and not remember we had a big day ahead of us.

“Wake up, sleepy head.” I knocked at her door.

“Oh. You're awake.” She said, letting me in. She didn't look like someone who woke up from sleep, in fact she must have been awake for the better part of the night.

“Why are you so awake early?” I asked her quite surprised.

“Well, you said we were leaving, didn't you? So I'm prepared. I just have to eat one last good meal before going.” She said.

I laughed at her innocence. “I'm prepared already, I'm just waiting for morning sun. Why don't we go downstairs and make something to eat to celebrate our last day here.”

Laura nodded and we walked together downstairs into the kitchen.
